There are a number of different types of flooring systems from a simple paint to a full resin screed. In general terms the thickness of the system combined with the intended use of the area will determine a systems life expectancy.
A floor paint / seal system will vary in depth from 0.1 -1mm and the life expectancy will vary from 6 months – 2 years.
A resin screed can vary in depth from 2mm up to 9mm, however any system with a thickness of 4mm or over should have a life expectancy in excess of 10 years.
