RESYN is taking part in the Zero Waste Week Challenge!

Investors-in-the-EnvironmentThe not-for profit environmental accreditation scheme Investors in the Environment (iiE) is calling for businesses, households and individuals to take part in the annual Zero Waste Week challenge! Can you manage a week without putting anything in the bin?

RESYN will be taking part in the Zero Waste Week Challenge, and is urging other businesses to do the same to help the environment while saving you money. Zero Waste Week takes place on Monday 22 – Sunday 28 February 2015. Despite its name, you don’t have to go completely Zero Waste; the idea is simply to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.

Kim Coley, Senior Green Business Coordinator at iiE said, “Zero Waste Week is a great initiative for encouraging everyone to look at their day-to-day actions. By making small steps towards waste reduction you will become more aware of environmental issues, plus you get to take part in a challenge that’s fantastic fun!”

iiE is asking participants to share photographs of their green pledges on social media at iiEUK with the hashtag #ZeroWasteWeek. Whether it’s taping office bins shut for a week, getting a compost bin, cutting back on junk mail, cycling into work, not using office printers for one day, or eating home-cooked food to reduce packaging, iiE wants to hear your green pledges!

Zero Waste Week challenge is a great opportunity for businesses to look at the waste they produce and take positive actions to ensure they cut down on waste to landfill and increase recycling – improving their environmental performance and importantly achieving financial gains.
