Pilgrim Foodservice provides over 3,000 frozen, chilled and ambient products to the foodservice industry. Based in Boston the company caters to a variety of establishments. The company which has grown substantially since it was first established in 1980, finally outgrew their existing premises and made the decision to build a state-of-the-art, bespoke new sales and distribution centre. The company were looking for an extremely durable, easy-to-maintain, attractive and hardwearing floor solution to complement their new surroundings and called upon RESYN for advice.
The new building, which was built on a 14.8-acre site on the edge of Boston, required an aesthetic, hardwearing floor finish that could withstand the impact of a busy sales and distribution centre. The client, who had considered finishes including vinyl sheets, carpets and tiles met with RESYN to discuss the possibility of a hardwearing floor using a resin solution. Having discussed the client’s requirements RESYN recommended the Degafloor Flake System. The system, which is highly decorative and can be created in a bespoke design, provided an ideal alternative to the more traditional finishes.
The Degafloor Flake System is a seamless solution and therefore does not have grouted joints or seams, which can often be hard to maintain and keep clean. As a seamless system, there are no weak spots and therefore maintenance is greatly reduced as well as maintaining a hardwearing floor. The Degafloor systems are based on MMA resins, which have unique bonding characteristics. A chemical bond is achieved between the subfloor and the system, greatly reducing the risk of delamination.
RESYN installed the decorative finish to a variety of areas including, the entrance, canteen, offices, corridors, locker room and WC’s within just three days allowing the fast track refurbishment to continue.
