After a fire broke out and damaged the back of a Rainbow Store in Wisbech, Anglia Regional Co-operative Society seized the opportunity to refresh and refurbish the whole store and so were in need of a contractor to install flooring.
The cooperation between RESYN and Anglia Regional Cooperative Society on other successful installations gave the client the confidence to negotiate the refurbishment of this project.
Having a proven track record and experience as a contractor to install flooring on other co-operative sites, it was immediately decided that the Degafloor Flake System should be installed. The system provides the client with the opportunity to create bespoke aesthetics; the colours chosen created a clean and fresh image to complement the store’s fit-out. The system’s durability and seamless finish provide a hardwearing yet attractive floor, an ideal solution for retail areas.
To provide an efficient and cost-effective finish, RESYN as the chosen contractor to install flooring installed the resin system over the existing terrazzo tiles. The area, which was in excess of 1200sqm, took seven days to complete from preparation to installation. The site management and cooperation provided by Kier was a major factor in ensuring a fast track programme was maintained.
A shared concern was the potential damage that could be incurred by other trades on the completion of the store. To ensure that minimal damage occurred RESYN overlaid the resin finish with 3mm protective boards that were taped down at the edges to provide a temporary shielding solution. Once all work was completed the boards were taken up to reveal a new unmarked floor.
